So 5 countries down and only 1 more to go. It doesn't seem possible but my 3 months is coming to an end!
So after the hustle an bustle of KL we headed to the quiet UNESCO city of Melaka. With Portuguese, Dutch and British history it was an interesting port town! We explored the main sights like the old fort, church. The views of the old town and sea were cool! The sun was shining and I could see the Dutch influence in the architecture. The only British mark appeared to be a few phone boxes and the buildings having been painted red from the Dutch white to save repainting costs! We discovered the name melaka means gooseberry in Malay.
We were all set to have a ride on the pimped up cyclos (a little trailer pulled by a man on a bike) but he called us fat and wanted more money so we left! Principal taking over.
The beach looked appealing from afar so we set off only to find the port was at the town and no sand in sight! We did see the biggest iguana disappear down a hole near us which made us run back into the built up modern shopping mall. Sampling more of the best cake I have had for a while we got a card for our wonderful guide, Molly to say thank you!
Dinner was a Malaysian affair with chicken satay and live music! Malaysia has been a blast, very different from the other countries I have been to but I have to say warm showers and nice roads has been welcomed!
Last stop Singapore! :)
