Hi All
"Two strokes and it's all over"
Those of you with pure minds (which is all of you of course) will realise instantly that the above comment from Angela was referring to the small size of the plunge pool at Kwara, the luxury lodge in the delta that we spent an all too short 3 nights at this week!
The game viewing at the lodge was awesome, we watched 2 cheetahs stalk and kill an impala, and 7 male lions (gay pride????) pull down a calf from a herd of 200 or more buffalo. We've seen a number of firsts for us, Cerval, Side Striped Jackals and a water mongoose.
We went fishing on the delta and Angela caught a bream that the lodge cooked for us (lovely eating unlike freshwater bream in UK). I caught a barbel, which we put back as it is a bit boney to eat easily.
We are about to go back in to Moremi game reserve to get another wildlife fix, after having punctures 8 & 9 repaired in Maun.
I may have mentioned in an earlier blog or front page update that England were going to lose to Australia in the Rugby World Cup qtr final. I was of course joking and knew all along that we'd beat Australia. Just need to sort out France then it's our second final in a row.
Talking of sport many thanks to Andrew and Jackie from Toronto for arriving at Kwara Lodge with the ManUtd v Roma result (1-0). How often do you meet a Man Utd supporting Canadian deep in the Botswana bush? Hope you enjoy the private lodge in Kruger guys, let us know how it was.
The vehicle is re-fuelled (a major logistics exercise with 9 jerrycans as well) and we are off in to Moremi again early tomorrow.
Thanks for reading the updates and looking at the photos.
Ralph & Angela
