Today was our second full day at Adels Grove. We had another slow morning and after breakfast I decided to tackle some laundry (all the exciting stuff). This took up quite a lot of the morning by the time I had to wait and stand in line for a washing machine, you snooze you loose around here. Where we are camping is beautiful but it is on dirt and there is also a lot of leaf litter, so as you can imagine the boys are covered head to toe in dirt all day and pretty much no clothes can be recycled.
After morning tea we packed up to go to the Lawn Hill national park for the rest of the day. I was hoping that Ed would have a sleep in the carrier when we got there, or better still when we were on our cruise, but in true Ed form he fell asleep as soon as we got in the car (and so did James) and it was about a 20 minute drive...
Once we arrived we had some lunch in a beautiful shady spot down by the water. Andrew, Cynthia, Sarah and Alex went on the first boat at 1:30 pm and the rest of us had a swim and a paddle in the kayak. Our cruise was at 3pm and it was beautiful. I put Ed in the carrier and he soon fell asleep so it was nice and relaxing without having to worry about him trying to launch himself off the boat. Unfortunately we didn't see any crocodiles but the others did on the earlier cruise. The tour guide showed us the waterfall where that kid got bitten by a croc earlier in the year, he must be pretty sick of telling that story! It was so nice out there I think we will head out again tomorrow afternoon for another swim and maybe hire a canoe.
We headed back to camp and fed the kids, the men headed to the bar and we met them there later. Then kids to bed, dinner for us and of to the 'donkey' showers for a luke warm trickle of water (better than nothing though!)
