So today got me thinking about what people call me. My dad calls me Liesltjie (sometimes, but usually in a worried tone, like "Ma' Liesltjie, pappa is bietjie geworried oor jou finansies"). My mom always starts her mails with "hello my poekels" which has now changed to "kedoekels". Michelle calls me corkie, or more specifically "my enigste padda". I will always be Lene's "allikrokko" (don't ask). Phil calls me Lies'. Marcos calls me bokkie (and now the parrot does too. Well used to). Brent calls me a "lesser spotted goggaikie". Dave usually says "listen woman!" (in a very stern voice) (he also says if I'm not nice to him he's gonna feed me camel-testicle-sushi tonight).
Its absolutely POURING here today. It's a very dark shade of grey outside my window at the moment. Actually earlier today when I looked out the window, know what I saw? No, not ships. Not cute sailors. But I saw the Red Bull Air Race planes practising!! Right outside my window! I went up to the 30 th floor and got a better view. Really, really awesome!
Something that might make some of you smile, yesterday I had a bit of a "moment" again when I said to a colleague of mine " Voulez vous couches avec moi, ce soir?" (it's the only sentence in French that I know) to which he replied "Yes, I'd love to sleep with you". Mwahahahaa! EEK!! How blind! I thought it meant something like... erm... no I'm not sure what I thought it meant. Its like when I meet a Greek person, I say " O Theos, na filaksi nami pao se parathiso pothen iparchi alogo" ("God forbid that I should go to any heaven where there are no horses"). A bit random, i know. I do seem to get away with it tho...
THE SUN JUST CAME OUT!! *doing a little dance*
As mentioned, tonight I'm having sushi. Tomorrow night I'm going for drinks with friends. Saturday Marcos and I are going to Brighton. Sunday I'm watching the Red Bull Air Race finals (on the 30th floor). So it looks like a jam-packed weekend again. Oh, did I tell you guys that I found someone for my room? I have to move out next Wednesday, which has me in a bit of a panic cause it means I have to PACK. Argh!
I'll write a mail tomorrow about last weekend.. I'm getting a bit behind and then I'm never gonna hear the end of it from my mom (again) "you have to write everything down". Yeeees mom. *sigh*.
