We arrived in Vegas after driving 168 miles... boy it's hot here. Now that we are in Nevada, this makes state number 43 for me. Gil had been here before on work trips.
We are staying at Sam's Town, a casino hotel that also has a campground. They are not on the busy strip and provide a shuttle. After setting up the RV at the campsite we headed to The Mirage to catch the Terri Fator show. We missed the Shuttle because it was parked further up from where we thought the shuttle would be and it was also a huge coach bus - I was not expecting that, so we had to get a cab.
Back to Fator, he is a ventriloquist who won America's Got Talent 3 years ago. He can sing and imitate many singers singing through ventriloquism with his puppets - one of a kind talent. His show was excellent...we laughed the whole time. We tried to go to dinner at the buffet but it was closed, we ended up in a sit down restaurant there. After dinner we caught another cab back to the hotel since the shuttle service was over. The downside to the service is the last run is quite early at 9:30 considering Vegas is just coming alive with the lights at that time.
Tomorrow our cousins Ruben, Lissette, Austin and Adam are driving from Riverside CA to visit with us. Can't wait to see them, it's been 11 years!
