UB Camp 1 to UB Camp 2
Here we go again still heavy sand in some cases twelve inches deep, it's now been further compounded by a light pink small radius gravel that sort of behaves like sand they liberally spread it about in large chunks. My lesson today is to try to stop grabbing the bars when the front slips apparently I've got to let the bike go where it wants to go not try and correct. I can do it sometimes but others I just grab by instinct. That accounts for my third off I hit a cross road in the path where all the gravel has built up into big piles the front flicks as it sinks into the piles of gravel and instead of letting it go I grab the bars and maybe even touch the front brake and off I go. I hit the deck at about 25 mph and as I'm going in I'm thinking this is going to hurt but when my elbow hits the Dianese armour seems to absorb the shock so not even a bruise. The left Metal mule pops off a little bent but goes straight back on again, so aside from a scratch on the engine bars all seems well. Uncomfortably, I feel better when Colin, a veteran off-roader, loses concentration for a moment and comes off in front of me suffers some damage to the bike but he's fine at least it's not just me that can c*** it up. Even Chris had an off when he hit the bump in the picture I've no experience but I'd guess this stuff is tough.
