Local cafe for breakfast. Beef noodle soup for David and jumbo kaja toast for Yvonne. Kaja is like a jam. We had it in Singapore and we're delighted to find it in Macau. When it arrived however Yvonne was not so confident as to say the bread was a door step is doing it a disservice, the one slice was 3 inches thick, Jumbo toast lived up to its name!!! After an afternoon by the pool we caught the free shuttle bus to the Venetian casino on the next door island, Taipa. Macau is a peninsular and 2 islands.
The Venetian is huge. The Macau one is apparently 4 times bigger than the one in Vegas. We took 15 mins to walk through it to the exit we wanted and that was straight through, no diversions, no stop offs.
We were headed for the very charming Taipa village. There we had another Macanese delicacy, pork chop rolls. They were on a 2-4-1 so we asked for the two, were charged for two and ended up with 4 sandwiches.
Finished our excursion in an Aussie bar called OTT and watched the world walk by. Enjoyed the kids on bicycles and in particular a tandem circulating the square in ever decreasing circles.
Then back to the Venetian for a look round and catch the bus back to Macau mainland for some drinks and snacks at the Cathedral Cafe, a perfect cafe with good wine, beer and atmosphere a perfect end to the day.
