Sat in our considerably smaller room in Hong Kong. Crossing was relatively painless and we are now the proud owners of Octopus cards which are similar to Oyster cards in London. Not sure why these cards are named after sea creatures. Is there's something fishy going on?
Our hotel provides a smart phone for us to use while we are in Hong Kong, Yvonne has taken control and as I blog is using some very choice language and stabbing the screen repeatedly. I assume this must be how you set this particular phone up.
Hallelujah Yvonne's got it to work and has just informed that it will be raining all week, sometimes you just don't need to know about the weather.
Afternoon checking out the neighbourhood: cultural walking tour led by Yvonne followed by local pubs by David. We can confirm that we appear to be in the Bigg Market.
Evening visit to a Cantonese restaurant above our usual standards. We caused consternation by declining the tea. Food was fab and easily the best lemon chicken ever.
Back to one of the bars from this afternoon when we were invaded by a German football team (Hong Kong Krauts) on tour involving bringing their own beer, music and women. Bar owners didn't seem to mind but it was a surreal experience being in a German party in Hong Kong and it does explain why the bar had Erdinger on draft and the Bundusleiga on the tv.

Rich One request Mr Dave please As ever your departing the UK has caused the usual upturn in the Toon's Football results - so much so they are now 2 points clear of the relegation zone with their next match against the leagues worst team. So unlike the Scottish Football team in the 1998 world cup - please "don't come home too soon" (or spit in the Rain either) Cheers Rich
