We have been debating all week about what to do on the last day. We eventually decided a day trip to Ocean Park, a theme park on an other island. We woke up however to clear skies and decided sod it a lazy day around a pool would be in order.
We checked out of our hotel ( pool still empty of water ) at 11am, bought two cakes that David has been dreaming about for the last 6 days and after a short MTR trip we checked into our new home for the day the Harbour Plaza North Point.
We didn't have high expectations of the hotel as we booked it just an hour before but it did have a pool which is a difficult thing to find in Hong Kong on our budget.
Absolute bargain checked in at 12 to be told we had an upgraded room on the 33 floor, turns out this is the penthouse floor and our room is a suite with kitchen, living room, dining area, bathroom and separate bedroom. Lovely harbour views and excellent pool. Talk about falling on your feet.
Cakes finished we headed down to the pool for some much needed R&R, well we had been on the go for 1 hour you know.
One negative about our room is the scales in the bathroom, we had been congratulating ourselves on how little we had made a pig of ourselves, the scales however are telling a different story. Yvonne has decided the scales are obviously giving false readings and decided to ignore them and perceiver with her preferred diet of cake, roast pork, crisps, cocktails, chicken (deep fried), beer and noodles in what ever order they arrive.
Off in search of snacks we fell across an afternoon offer of a pitcher of beer or cocktails and a large pizza. Never known to turn down a bargain especially in this town, we took them upon their kind offer. Only argument being beer or cocktail. Beer won.
