We had a bumpy start to today, literally if you ask Emily. The flight over was quite turbulent which didn't help us trying to sleep. Add to that the somewhere up to 100 Chinese businessmen on the flight and sleeping was difficult.
But in the back of our mind we had a car waiting for us at the airport and a room with a shower and bed as well. We got off the delayed landing flight, grabbed our bags from both the carousels and on making our way out to the road discovered no car. Tried to ring the company and then realized the booking was for March 31 not April 1. That didn't faze us so we grabbed a cab and headed to the hotel.
Now the background to the hotel is that we booked and paid for the first night even though we weren't there to use it, but that way we had a bed and shower on arrival. Well on arrival, because we didn't arrive the night before we were listed as no shows and had our reservation cancelled. I did get a little irate but the girl did a great job of calming me down and fixing our situation. Only problem was we hit the parks in jeans and winter clothing from a cold Los Angeles that were already over 24 hours worn, in 30 degree C temps.
After a run on Spiderman and Hulk we made a beeline for the reason we wee at Orlando in the first place; Harry Potter. The things that struck me was, not he size of the plot nor the intricate detail or great attractions, but the crowd! There were people everywhere, and the rest of the park was half empty. We went on the main ride which I forget the name of but that doesn't matter,! This ride is awesome! It combines movement with VR and makes an amazing experience. Words will not do it justice so you'll just have to take my word for it. We will be doing it again, crowds permitting aghast for sure.
3 Broomsticks breakfast in Tuesday which will include a 7am start in the HP land to beat the crowds and the heat. Will report in after that. Cheerio!
