To all my english speaking friends; I know, I missed to write the stories on my blog in english for you… So that`s why I try to do a summary of my travel trough africa for you now…(Don`t blame me about my writing( It`s even worst than my speaking… definitely;-) ) (otherwise try the translating with google…;-) )
So, here we go; Nearly two month will allready be gone in a couple of days since I left Switzerland. I spent an awesome time in africa, I`ve visited three countries and each had it specials.
MOZAMBIQUE; There I was trying to help on a research project about whalesharks (mantarays and turtles).I learned a lot about this great and calm animals also about other sealife and the sea itself. (Swiming with a whaleshark is just great and beeing under water while diving is one oft he best things you can do!) But there is a lot more we all still don`t know about the sea; So please take your notice and take care about it… !;-)
MOZ is a very poor country with a bautiful landscape, specially the beaches. You still see the portuguese influence of the past if you watch the houses.
The local people I met there were very friendly and I had a good time with them. Also the other volunteers or people in this project shearing the time with me there…( Linnea, Johanna, Lisa and Christina, Steve, Ross, Katie, Martin, Messias, Dan, Luis, Sus, Sid…; guys you are f… awesome! ;-) )
SWAZILAND ; I am very glad I went there by a car ride I got offered by some « All Out Africa members » THANK YOU again, Dan, Nobile and Michael it was fun with you ! ;-)
Pitty I haven`t spent more days there… !But, better then nothing !;-) I was relaxing, hiking, talking with some nice people, singing with some crazy guys I met at „Lidwala Backpackerslodge" and watching the stars…It was like beeing on a camp back in my childhood ; sitting in a circle with some friends singing together while one is playing the guitar…
SOUTH AFRICA ; What an amazing country ! I reached it by taking « Combies » from Swazi into South Africa (Nelspruit). What an fantastic (but time taking !) experience ! Sitting nearly squeezed as the only foreigner with indigenous people in a stuffed mini bus…!
I had a « meet and greet » at Kruger NP with « Lion King » and his friends Pumba, Sazu, Nala, the giraffes, leopards, the happy hippos (one was called Harry… ;-) ) was surounded by a « memory »(thats how you call a group)of elephants and have spotted rhinos. I was eating „bush spinach" and searching snakes and spider but just found a cameleon and turtoise… I also have never ever talked that much (about) s***…;-) (now I am nearly a sudied ranger…) Along the coastline I had to manage some problems about the floodings because of a heavy storm and rainfall just bevore I started travelling down from Kruger to Capetown… But I managed it. I just couldn`t do or see some things I wanted to. Glad I had (or still have!) my friend Marina with me!!! She came over for her vacation and spent the days here with me. THANK YOU „SIS" for this GREAT and AWESOME trip!!!!
Now I`m in Capetown enjoying my last couple of hours (nearly two days) here. The sunny weather is back an so I enjoy the stay much more. The places around here are great! Nice beaches, great view from table mountain, good night life and lovely cafes…
I don`t know what I can say more I just like it travelling around and getting new experiences.
Next part will be India, starting at November 22th. Something totaly different and new. Probably a cultural „shocking" experience but I gonna go thru…;-) I`m allready excited !
Cheers Sibyll
