Wow this is going to be a big one!
I know you all want photos but I had to send my memory cards home with Vic for safe keeping although is that safe keeping???The internet is so slow here it takes a day and age to upload I have tried several times but failed!
Friday 2nd July
Tuk tuk ride to North Samui in Bho Put where we found another shack on the beach with the noisiest fan in Thailand, we took a stroll in search of food and found a locals market guessed what we wanted to eat by pointing and found out it was hot, hot, hot! Vic and I then decided the cheapest and most fun way to get around was to hire a moped and it was fun we headed off to see the big Buddhas and caught a little sun on the beach. In the evening we walked along the beach to a fishing village where all the streets are closed off for the evening and they have a night market, it was heaven to us when all the food came in small portions for 20B and we could taste a little bit of every thing until we almost burst!
Saturday 3rd July
Woke up super early to jump on our ped ped to a morning market we were the only westerners there and saw some interesting sights...snakes, toads and turtles being sold to be eaten! We headed back for some beach time before our bus and boat over to Krabi to meet Katie and Faye. We all shared a room and as we went in I put the key in the slot for electric and broke it right off! This took some re-wiring on my part... I may have done it slightly wrong as when you turned the lights off so did the air con and when you put them on the air con came on! Good job we were only staying for 1 night!
Sunday 4th July
After pulling myself out of bed to catch a long tail boat to Railay we had to wait over an hour as the boat will not go until it has 7 people. With my big back pack, little back pack and a hand bag full of our valuables we had to wade through the water to get the boat, little did I know it was going to go up to my waist! Long shorts bad idea on that day...We got across and checked into a hotel with the most incredible view from our pool it was a gem! Lunch, beach, pool, monkeys galore and BBQ.
Monday 5th July
Heading to Phi Phi this involved walking again through the water not so deep this time into a long tail boat, 5 minutes on this and then transferred to a ferry to take us to Phi Phi we eventually arrived hot and hungry. The island was incredible with no roads just streets, shops and bars-this can only lead to trouble. We had lunch on the beach and finished the day sunning ourselves. We got back to our hotel which would be better described as portacabins stacked on top of each other! Vic went to the bathroom and I heard a scream she came running out shouting "cockroach" (Collin) being the cockroach master I went in to catch that little buggar but he was to quick and ran off. Vic decided the safest way to wee was with holding the shower hose and pointing it at the floor ready to get him if he came back out, and YES he did. I was quite happily laying on my bed when I heard the next scream when Vic ran out pants around her ankles! I went back in again Collin was to quick for me, so Vics next idea was to shower with the door open to make a quick escape and sure enough out came Collin and out came Vic naked, again I was happilly minding my own business laying on my bed! Time to call in back up and we said good bye to Collin, Vic still insisted on showering with the door open! We eventually made it out and found a crazy bar that sold buckets 3 for 1 insane but naturally we took up the offer and purchased 3 to share you would think this was enough for the 2 of us but NOOOO we got another 3...and headed off for the beach party where there was some dancing, lady boys, snacks and offending of the Irish. When we returned to our hotel/portacabin we thought it was funny to bang loudly on the ceiling to Katie and Faye until we were asked to "keep it down some people are trying to sleep" on that note we passed out! In our defence the drink was needed to pass out in order to not worry about Collins friends coming back to get us for his passing away!
Up bright and sparky for a day trip to Maya Bay where 'the beach' was filmed, we were told to be there at 10am which we were and slightly worried we had not left for the peir at 10.45am when we eventually got picked up the boat was leaving and it had to turn back around to get us. We started off with some snorkelling and saw hundred of bright turquoise and silver fish not so funny however when the man incharge chucked bread for them next to me and they all swarmned over! It was scary for a minute, they could eat me! There was some waving of the arms, shrieks and laughing from Vic, Katie and Faye. Next stop Monkey Island Faye and I swam over as I stopped half way to stand on a rock there was some nipping of my feet time to move on. A lady screaming she had been stung by a jelly fish and at least 10 washed up on the beach lucklily Vic and Katie were half way so we sent them back for a Kyak to come collect us! We had more snorkelling and Maya Bay all INCREDIBLE and I survived the day without a hangover genius! Quiet night of dinner and shopping.....
Wednesday 7th July
Ferry across to Phuket where we got a hairy scary taxi ride to the 'Greens' although when we got close he did not where he was going got livid and dropped us at the beach! Luckily iot was 5 mins away and Matt picked us up, we spent the afternoon in the pool and playing with the boys. We were treated to a room with aircon and a HOT shower, I forgot what this was! Afew drinks, dinner and bed.
Thursday 8th July
With the weather not looking great we decided our best plan was to head straight to Bangkok, we cheated and got dropped at the airport! We were going to book onto the 10.20am flight but as we were still witing to get a ticket at 9.50am we did not fancy our chances. Not aproblem said the lady as and booked us onto it still slightly concearned we would miss it Vic ran for breakfast and I paid. At 10.10am we were checking our bags in still slightly panicked but everyone still relaxed the gate shut at 10.15am and we were on! We got to Khao San road and walked the lengh of it and Rambuttri road in search of air con, pool and cheap just to end up checking into the first hotel we looked at, but it had it all including breakfast-winner. Roof top pool and our favourite pad thai around the corner, this is what dreams are made of!
Friday 9th July
Day to be cultural so we were on our way to the Grand Palace when a very nice (so we thought) Thai man stopped to tell us it was shut until 1pm and showed us where we could visit, also informing us it was government day and we could go any where in the tuk tuk for 20B excellent we thought and headed off feeling very happy. First stop Lucky Buddha met anothe nice THai man (he actually was) who showed us how to pray and took our picture for us. I think he had the eye for tanless Vic and I had to take a picture of them on his mobile. He also gave us a good tailor to get Chris's suit made and this is where we headed next , it took forever to choose so I hope you like it! Our tul tuk man then took us to gem store (here we go) but we did not really understand and thought we just had to look while he got gas, when we came out after 2 mins he was not happy and told us we had to for 10 mins aqnd took us to another so he could get a petrol voucher now we knew we were being taken for a ride! But we did it and had to buy something so he could get it we stretched to a tiger balm! He then dropped us at Grand Palace and was mad we did not tip...To make things better they told us it was free as 'government day' and we had spent all our money on the suit, it was not free and we returned to the hotel. Later we met Katie and Faye for a few games and drinks to arrive back at 5am.
Saturday 10th July
Half the day was gone sleeping and the other half was spent around the pool and eatng pad thai!
Sunday 11th July
We got up early this morning and headed to the market via boat and skytrain, it is one of the biggest markets in the world with 15000 stalls! It was pretty crazy and hot I purchased some gifts and some gifts for myself! This evening we headed for dinner with Katie and Faye it was there last night and the Vertigo bar, a bar on the 60th floor of a hotel the view was incredible but we could only afford 1 cocktail but it was good!

Wednesday 14th July
6.30am wake up call for the floating market we got taken down the river on a paddle boat and through the market even Vic was bartering well here it was full of tourists but fun to see. When we got back we were hoping for some sun but it rained and thundered so this was our queue for a nap! When we finally awoke for dinner and last bits of shopping for Vic her last night (so wethought)! It being Vics last night it was only right to end it with a few gin buckets... We made friends with some boys from Liverpool and taught them a few drinking games and went to a ping pong show! Another 5 am'er'.
Thursday 15th July
Vics last day or was it??? Another half day in bed and we awoke to hunger not so much Vic I had to get hedressed to get her out for food! When we got back Vic went to check her flight and book a taxi when I took a closed inspection I noticed the flight was 1.10am Thursday MORNING not NIGHT Vic now we have a problem! A mad rto pack her bag and we jumped into a mini van for the airport and I have to say I thought we were going to die! We had to sit in the front and he was not playing by the 3 second rule or no under taking it was my hairiest ride yet! I was ecstatic when we finally got out at the airport and almost forgot wI was there, oh yes VIC! After a very long wait we were told that yes she could get on the next flight thank goodness, I thought I may be stwith her for longer! We had some dinner and I made my way back to the hotel my first night alone-I survived!
