Livid as had almost completed newest blog I managed to delete it! No undo either as it all comes up in Chinese!
Here we go again.....
As I beleive all good back packers should come across a cockroach or 2 across there travels, although I think 4 in 24 hours is a little much!
Being greeted with one guarding the door in Kunming before check out I got a glass and caught that little buggar!
A 3 hour bus ride to Juanshui on a small, smelly bus the air con came on and cleared the air a little or I just got used to it! A good chanc to catch up on some sleep I thought, oh how I was so wrong! The bus driver was a tad fond of his rather loud horn and it got hoked at least every 5 minutes at something or other!
We arrived and had to get the public bus to our hotel, I'm quite sure the locals really appreciated 4 westerners with huge backpacks taking up most of the room!
What a suprise with out hotel it was so quirky with carved wooden shutter doors with just a small padlock keeping them lopcked and it was all covered in chinese paintings, very backpack'ery; I thought!
Into Juanshui for a walk and dinner the streets are filled with tree's red lanterns, old buildings and crazy moped drivers!
Dinner was in a bbq restraunt, that if you walked into it in the UK you have gone straight back out and reported them! Dinner was good though and very hot the main ingredeint used here is chilli!
I am now becoming fluent in chinese I know the important stuff 'how much is a cold beer, thank you' and 'i'm full'! With this we headed back for a few rounds of RING O FIRE!
Another cockroach incident but 'manly' James decided he would catch it, until it moved he dropped the glass and ran! Another 2 before bed but these little nippers got away! I now have to check my bed thoroughly before sleeping!
Early this morning we had dumplings for breakfast and a little yellow van took us to see the twin dragon bridge-nice! Next was onto Tuanshan village that is over 600 years old from the qing dynasty and kept exactly the same! It was beautiful and very interesting to see, the locals then made us some lunch! Although poor 'other James' (we have 2on trip) was still feeling a little rotten from loosing RING O FIRE and had to make a swift exit!
We boarded our little yellow bus and headed back to the hotel for a much needed nap and no cockroaches as of yet!
Oh and it has been pouring today so I have been in flip flops and rain coat!
Tomorrow is dedicated to travelling we cross the boarder into Vietnam, I am prepared with my fix of Oreos for a snack, I was quite excited when I found them in the supermarket!
PS any mistakes made I apologise I can't risk changing any thing and deleting it all again!
