Sleeper + Chiang Mai! So we finally arrived in Chiang Mai feeling a little, ok rough. Went straight to the *hotel* - expecting it to be run-down, not very nice! It was basically a 5* hotel with pool, spa, gym... slippers and dressing gown! So, we went down to the reception to find out what was going on with the tour... they didn't know anything about it! So what did we do? We went for a swim! In the evening we went out for something to eat, came back early....

Bangkok. Our second day away from the UK! 1. Book train ticket.. Bangkok - Chiang Mai 2. Visit Grand Palace 3. Go via Tuk Tuk 4. See Big Buddha 5. Get train! So we did all that we wanted to do, only that it was a little harder because the Queen's sister, Princess Galyani Vadhana died earlier that day - it just meant that we had to visit the Grand Palace later.. it was only open to Thai people from 12 - 2 I think! So, we spoke to one of the guides outs...

So, it seems the time may have come to actually start doing this blog! I've gone back in time to do this so it might not work! Where to start? Let's start at the very beginning! We flew from Heathrow to Bangkok, Thailand. Everything was going smoothly... Until the pilot told us we had to land in Chiang Mai (one hour on the plane away from Bangkok) because of really bad storms.
