Zoe and Ed's Travels
We have had a very hot and sticky day exploring the Mayan ruins in the jungle at Palenque. It was worth it, though. The ruins are well preserved, and the site is large but compact. There is also a small museum with some amazingly intact pieces. The setting in the jungle adds to the experience.
We got the bus yesterday from San Cristobal de las Casas. It is a lot warmer here than it was in the highlands; we are now not much at all above sea level, heading for the Yucatan Peninsula.
Tomorrow morning we are getting the bus to Campeche, which is another nice colonial town. It`s really just a stepping stone on the way to Mérida, from where we are going to visit more Mayan ruins.
