Zoe and Ed's Travels
Hello, we are now in the Cook Islands, staying on the main island of Rarotonga. It is beautiful here: there is a reef around the whole island so there is a calm, shallow lagoon for swimming and snorkeling in. It really is palm fringed white beaches like you would imagine paradise. We kitted ourselves out with masks and snorkels and water shoes to make the most of the snorkeling opportunities - there are loads of fish, and yesterday we saw giant clams and I even saw an octopus! Unfortunately due to our flight from Tonga being delayed our bags stayed in Auckland while we came over here, but they arrived the next evening so we had one day with just the (far too warm) clothes we had travelled in - perfect excuse to buy colourful local clothes (and Air New Zealand are supposed to be reimbursing us $100 each)!
We fly to Aitutaki tomorrow which has a larger lagoon with many uninhabited motus (islets), on one of which they are currently filming the American Survivor series. We will stay 5 days and try to get in shot as much as possible!
