Zoe and Ed's Travels
Hi,
We are in Xian, home of the Terracotta army. We went and visited them yesterday. It was quite impressive, although more for the amount of stuff they haven't actually unearthed yet - it's a big site. We then spent ages haggling for souvenir warriers made of genuine terracotta (?!) which the Chinese hawkers enthusiatically bash together, scratch and generally abuse to show you they really are terracotta. Ed has the haggling skills down pat now, walking away several times only to be chased by shouts of final offer! We haven't seen much of the city itself as yet as we have a hotel near the train station but will venture to the other attractions in the next few days. We came here from Luoyang, which has more impressive caves, and on the train we were chatting to some Chinese students keen to talk to us. This Internet cafe doesn't have CD or DVD readers easily available so photos will have to wait for the moment.
