Fascinating reading about Fraser Island and your close encounter with a dingo! I know what you mean about being glad to get back to somewhere more civilised though. In the UK we are so close to everything that it's difficult to get more than 10 miles from the nearest pub, and when you are in one of these places where there is nothing but wildlife (and hungry wildlife at that) you start to think 'ooh er'. We felt like that in Canada on Vancouver island when you realise there is just you, the forest...and some very hungry bears! Bit different from the UK where the biggest danger is getting licked by a sheep or assaulted by a greedy duck. I envy you the view of the Milky Way too - light pollution is so bad in the UK it's hard to get a decent glimpse. OK, only another 4 days in Smelly Barr for me then it's off to the 'wilds' of Burgundy's top vinyards for a fortnight. Could be tough but we'll go tooled up - corkscrew and crystal wine glasses always in the kit!!
