Yesterday we checked out some wineries with a drive around the Tuscan Hills around Greve. We found a couple of the wineries using a very basic local map & enjoyed tasting some of the local chianti wines. We got a bit lost on our way back to Greve & ended up on some very remote gravel roads which eventually came to a farm gateway So we turned around & retraced our steps & eventually found our way home after having checked out some local scenery seldom seen by tourists! We then had a bit of downtime before being picked up in the Piazza to head to our cooking school with Julietta at her farmhouse out beyond Panzano. Some original parts of her farmhouse had been dated back 800 years! Julietta had put years into it's restoration & now had it as a B&B with the cooking school more recently added. We were both in our element cooking traditional Tuscan foods with 2 other Dutch girls, followed by a shared meal with them & 4 other B&B visitors as well as plenty of wine to round off our day! Today we've been on a Wine Tour to Castello di Verrazzano. It was a great way to hear & see some of the local history as well as to sample some of the local wine & food fare. Another relaxing but enjoyable day.
