Different sort of day today. We headed out to the Cradle of Humankind, and Sterkfontein caves. I found this to be more thought provoking than yesterday's museum trips. You can't help but get this feeling of insignificance when seeing how human beings have only been around for such a short time. Loads to see around here, including heading down into the caves. The whole area has been dubbed the 'Cradle of Humankind' as some of the oldest Hominid fossils ever ...

So Friday pulls around, and it's off to the Apartheid museum we go. All in all, it's a very well presented exhibition. It's never really going to be the pragmatic display we'd like, mainly as apartheid by it's nature never was. Nonetheless, it's still very though provoking, and does make you stop and think how such a system could continue to exist until the very late 20th century. So...day something or other... Not much has happened since we got here, spent most of yesterday doing some shopping for what and what not. Today, we had a drive out to a gemstone mine. Turns out it's a bit of a set-up, with a prentendy mine more for amusing kiddies. The owner does own mines, but they're in Zambia and Mozambique apparently. So, we finally made it! I'm going to keep this relatively short, as nothing of interest has happened. The trip to Newcastle Airport was 'interesting' thanks to some odd road works. Still, we got there on time. Uneventful flight, followed by 6 hours in Heathrow Terminal 5, which is such an odd place!
