Hi Everybody - we're in New Zealand!
We arrived late on Thursday, after flying from Melbourne, via Sydney. Long stop overs and and early start made it a tiring day.
Yesterday, we had a wander around the city. It's very nice, but there doesn't seem like there's much to do, except climb their Sky Tower and fling yourself off it. Not really feeling that this time round. The fall is only around 180m of a decelerator, and the Blou Krans Bridge jump was around 180m fall on a piece of rubber band. I have that 'been-there-done-that' kind of feeling. Still, it looks like NZ has a lot to offer us.
Tomorrow, we pick up a campervan for 3 weeks travelling about. We're going to head North first, through Northland to see the Bay of Islands etc, then retrace our steps to zig-zag down southwards down the North Island to Wellington, where we'll catch a ferry across to the South Island. Then, it'll be a vaguely anti-clockwise route down the west coast, and back up the east coast to get into Christchurch, where we'll hang about for a day or two before flying out.
Sounds easy hey! Let's see how it goes. How long before I get behind on updating this blog? Guess we'll have to wait and see...
