Today is the day I get my very first tattoo!
Woke up and had some cereal but only ate half, not because I was worried about the pain, more the fact it's on me for life and if it goes wrong or I end up not liking it then I'm f***ed quite frankly!
Headed down to the shop on my own as the boys were still in bed. Went into the shop and he sat me down in the chair.
Firstly the design went on, the outline of the map. After a successful first attempt I was happy of the placement and we proceeded with the "inking".
I expected it to hurt more to be honest but then again this was only the outline, I had a lot of filling in to come... Which as time passed it did and oh boy did it burn! Made me feel a little bit sick and as Kacy said, it's pain you are causing yourself and you can stop at anytime, but I wanted this so bad! The pain continued... Around 2 hours later the map was complete. I loved it! Painful but worth it.
Now the writing along the bottom. This took 3 or 4 times to get right as I wanted it perfectly below the map and symmetrical. Eventually I was happy and again the "inking" began. Some bits were painful, especially the thin part of my skin on the wrist area, but bearable.
Soon enough my tattoo was complete. Couldn't have been happier! Rushed back to the room to tell Kacy, who at this point was the only person I told. I decided I would show everyone else in person.
Nick then got his tattoo done of a koi karp on his right shoulder. Took about 4 hours, so 1 hour longer than mine. He then joined me and Ben across the road at a bar watching Spurs v Man Utd. Both of us happy with what we had got.
