Today was an eventful day, me and Nick woke up to finish the academic part of our course, Ben was feeling worse than ever in bed, so we agreed once we had finished the morning part of our course we would take him to the clinic.
Sure enough we came back and took him over to the clinic which was only a 5 minute walk away. We took him inside and Ben explained his symptoms. Ben was then put on a drip for 5 hours, fun I know!
We couldn't do much else and had to be back at lunch for our diving course so we headed back to the resort where we continued our diving. We went out into the water again, today was better weather for it too.
When you dive you go deeper under water, the deeper you go the more pressure there is, therefore like when you are on an aeroplane you need to "equalise" your ears. I had massive problems with this today, I have no idea why as I was fine the day before. My ears just would not equalise no matter what I tried with the instructor. I think I tried too much when I felt a horrible burning sensation in my right ear, it would not go so I had to stop. I was told to wait on the surface of the water whilst the rest if the group finished the skills for the day.
I was on top of the water for nearly an hour which led to me getting a bit burnt and having sunstroke.
When we returned to land i also visited the clinic to get my ears checked, I was informed I had blood in both ears. Game over for me too on the diving front! Not happy. I also had low blood levels, so they took blood tests, not fun! I felt pretty s***.
Returned to the hotel with some antibiotics and slept for the night.
