I woke up on the night train not long after 7am as we needed to pack away the beds before the train arrived in Bangkok. We had been on the train for 15 hours now and we learned that our train was delayed by 3 hours, so our total journey was now 18 hours! The longest time I've ever spent on one mode of transport.
We eventually got off the night train and stepped out into crazy old Bangkok. We were near The China Gate so we decided to look at that before doing anything else, it was a pretty spectacular sight.
After that, we walked to the IBO office where we could store our bags until our transfer that evening, in the meantime we went to a Internet Cafe and had some food. That passed the time until we headed back to IBO for a shower and our bus transfer to the pier arrived.
6 or so hours on the bus we arrived at the pier at around 4am, only to learn our ferry was not until 7am, so I think I nodded off for a bit as I was shattered at this point!
7am we board the ferry finally, but more bad news, it's 3 hours until we arrive at Koh Tao, so already in sleep mode I nod off again.
Eventually we arrive at this stunning island with magnificent weather, worth the journey! We got our backpacks and find our transfer to our hotel...
