Hello Everyone,
Since I last wrote aaagges ago I have been in Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and now back in Thailand! We are currently in Koh Phangan which is home to the famous full moon party, its been non stop partying since we arrived 3 days ago and tomorrow is the night of the full moon party itself.
Cambodia and Laos seem like a long time ago but I will briefly explain where we have been and what we have done. You will have to wait for pictures until i am home as it takes hours to put them up.
We visited Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Vientiene in Laos, all really interesting places and we stayed about 2 weeks in total. Lots of temples and pagodas, boat trips and a bit of partying.
Cambodia is probably my favourite place so far, our first stop was the Capital Phnom Penh which was madness with mopeds everywhere you looked, we visited the Killing Fields and the Royal Palace. A bit of shopping was obviously done!! (All DHL'd home) Then we travelled south to Shianoukville which is the only beachy party of Cambodia and we loved it. We almost adopted a small Cambodian girl who was adorable. Lots of relaxing and topping up our tans in beautiful surroundings. Next was Siem Reap and the famous Angkor Wat Temples which were amazing, we managed about 5 hours of walking around in 40 degree heat but it was worth it. Shopping here was also amazing!!
From Siem Reap we flew to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for just 3 days. We visited an aquarium and the Petronas Twin Towers and were lucky enough to be able to go up onto the skye bridge about 150 metres above ground level - Some great views and pictures. The other 2 days were spent shopping and withdrawing lots of money from the ATM!!!
We left KL and flew to Phukett where we met our friend from home Josie, shes come out to meet us for about 3 weeks which is great, so theres now 4 of us! We stayed in Phukett for 2 nights and to be honest didn't particularly like it much. Benidorm springs to mind.... We then took a boat to the island of Koh Phi Phi, and I was sick on the boat all over Jess's legs :( The island was beautiful with crystal clear water and white sand. The downside was it being extremely expensive. We met lots of great people that we have been bumping into since.
We did a horrible 12 hour trip on 2 boats and a bus to get to Koh Tao which was really nice and relaxed, famous for its diving. I now really regret not diving as we heard so many great stories and its the cheapest place in the world to do it. We stayed for 4 nights just relaxing and meeting up with friends. We arrived in Koh Phangan 3 nights ago and its been non stop since then, everyone has gathered here for the full moon party and this months is the biggest in the year so its hectic around the small island at the moment!
We are flying home from Bangkok on 9th July so have some time inbetween to just chill out and do whatever we fancy. Shopping time in Bangkok has been set aside of course.
Anyway I hope what I have written makes some kind of sense, and you have to excuse the spelling, it is half 12 in the evening/morning here.
I hope everyone is well back in the UK. See you sooon! Love Yvonne and the girls x
