When I said the wide open spaces, I didn't think it would be so wide. There is nothing between Broken Hill and Charleville, so it has been three days of just driving. Mind you I think I could ride any bucking horse now after the state of the roads and swerving it miss all the road kill. The route I took was Broken Hill to Bourke. Yes it is the back of the back, mind you it didn't help that everything was shut as there was a big funeral in town. Continued north to Cunnumulla then Charleville. At least here I hit civilisation once again. Turning east I bounced my way through to Roma. This is a lovely town and I was able to go walking through the park opposite the caravan park. The days are lovely and warm, but the nights still get cold. Heading north once again with some improvement in the road conditions I stayed in a little town of Rollestone. This is near Carnarvon National park which I visited for the day. It was great to be able to walk in the forest and cross the river several time. I did a 5hr walk, but it was the steps the where the killer. Anyway I had a most enjoyable day.
Change of plans, I had enough of wide open spaces, so will be heading towards the coast tomorrow, so I can stop and relax for a few days.
