Haven't got too much to report on Kuala Lumpur, we just had a quick stop here on the way to Bali. It was pretty eventful getting here mind, as it always has been throughout Asia. One thing we have learned being in Asia is never to believe anything you are told and don't have expectations, just go with the flow and see what happens! So, on leaving Phi Phi we were expecting to catch the boat to Krabi and then we would get a bus from Krabi to Kuala Lumpur...but that would be too easy! We got the boat, then were crammed into a tiny little bus which took us to some place we were unaware of, where we were told to change buses. So we changed onto another little bus, this time we were taken through the border and then stopped at a place called Butterworth. Here we sat in the smallest, most awful little bus station you've ever seen and were told that our next bus would pick us up at 12.30am, precisely 3.5 hours from when we were dropped off!!! So that was a fun time! We were eventually picked up by another bus which then took us all the way to Kuala Lumpur, this bus was big and had reclining seats which would have been great had it not have been the coldest bus I have ever been on in my life, we were freezing and the air con unit was dripping cold water on me!!! When we got there we got straight into a taxi to the hostel and the driver preceded to tell us not to walk around at night or early in the morning as there are gangs that walk about with knives...how nice!! By this time we were so sick we were ready just to lock ourselves up in the hostel for 2 days!!
Anyway, after some sleep, a shower and some breakfast it all seemed a bit better! Kuala Lumpur was actually a really nice city, we had a good couple of days here. Our first stop was the Menara Kuala Lumpur which is a telecommunications tower, one of the tallest in the world apparently. So we caught the lift to the top, the views of the city were awesome, you can see for miles. We also went to see the Petrona Twin Towers which are really impressive and look fantastic on a night as you can see from the photos. It was pretty tricky trying to get a good photo, I had to lie on the pavement looking up but this Spanish guy loaned us his little tripod which helped.
So apart from those main sights, there wasn't much else, we had a look in a few shopping centres (there are loads!!!), had a walk in China Town which was crazy and looked around the market. And that was Kuala Lumpur...
