TOUCHDOWN!!!
Yes folks, after several extra days at Mum and Dad's due to the volcanic eruption, we finally took off from Heathrow on Thursday 22nd April. We arrived in Cape Town on Friday morning and made our way to our hostel which has a great location in the city centre.
We're now adjusting to our new backpacker lifestyle and trying to stay within our budget (which is tricky as Cape Town is pretty expensive). Thankfully our hostel has a kitchen where we can cook our own food from the supermarket.
Yesterday was our first full day and we decided to head up to Table Mountain to make the most of the clear skies. After an hour's walk uphill we took the cable car to the top and enjoyed the fantastic views (photos and videos to follow later!) - we made use of our spanky new binoculars to see everything below (nice one Bazza).
Today, we're off to the Waterfront area of Cape Town and will hopefully book to go to Robben Island in the next couple of days (where Mandela was imprisoned).
Thanks for all your good wishes for our travels.
Big hugs
From the Cat and the Bear xx
