Dave 's BIG adventure!
Day 4
Once we got off the train it was a taxi in to Koa Sok national park to get the long tail boat that would take us to the floating bungalows! on the way we stop for a quick swim, then it was strait on to the bungalows for an over night stay! once we got there it was lunch time and every meal seamed to be all you could eat! then for the rest of the day we just chilled out, sunbathed, or made use of the kayaks! and explored the islands! that night every one was feeling the affects of full days of activity's while partying at night, so for many it was a early one!
Day 5
In the morning after another all you can eat breakfast, we left the floating bungalows for Koa Phangan! most of the day was spent travelling, boat to the main land, mini bus to our guides house, where we had left our main bags and stuff we didn't need! then back on the bus to the ferry port to catch the boat to the Koa Phangan, then taxi the our hotel! we then settled in and got some time to chill, before going out, and tasting the night life in the run up to one of the biggest party's in the world! we had dinner and met up with the group from the week before that had stuck around for the party! and then we went down to the beach to a pre Full Moon Party!
Day 6
This was a day trip round the Island stopping and exploring bits you may not see by road! once again on a long tail boat! one of the stops was to visit a water fall! as you know i wanted water falls back in Cairns, and i have well and truly had my fare share! the next stop was lunch and a chance to relax on a beach! then back on stopping once more, to snorkel this time! and i would say it was the best snokeling i had ever done! that night we just took it easy had dinner as a group then myself, Alan, Dom and Matt went to watch the Thai boxing! we then realised that the island was very highly populated by Israelis! it seams that Koa Phangan is to Israel, what Magaluf or Benidorm is to Briton!! How ever the boxing was good and defiantly worth going! unlike the ping-pong!
Day 7
Our final day, was kicked off by a spot of elephant trekking! in the morning followed by a Thai massage in the after noon! then we got ready for our farewell dinner and the party on the beach! all Thaintro's end this way but for the first time in the history, the farewell beach party and the Full Moon Party fell on the same night!
I think of the Full Moon Party as a bit like Christmas! sure it was good, and lots of fun! but for me like Christmas it's the build up i like! the pre party's were fun and just the same, the only real difference was there were thousands more people there!
The next day was spent sleeping mainly and then thinking about our next steps in Thailand!
Thaintro was a great way to experiences Thailand and i would recommend it to anyone, not only does it take the hassle out of arriving in Bangkok for the first time but you get to do things you may not normally get to do, like the Floating bungalows! on you own it would be very expensive because you would have to pay for a boat and a guide to take you there, then pay for his accommodation and food! e.t.c.
