I am in Sweden now with my family, I have been here three days. I have my own room and it is about three times as big as the one I was sharring with Mariana in Paris! It is fun being with family and not feeling like a stranger all the time. It snowed a bit yesterday and the ground is all white. I went for a run this morning. It was ten in the morning, but because the sun had just began to peak over the trees, it felt like seven. It was cold so I ran faster. It felt great. I ran down along the inlet of the Baltic sea in the trees on the shore, in the snow. It is beautiful here. Stockholm itself sits on an archipelago. There are lots of different islands and bridges. The water weaves itself around and through the entire city and gives it a more natural and peacful feel than most big cities. It does get dark here around four in the afternoon and coffee is very popular, and useful to fight the natural urge to sleep when it's dark. Sunday we drove into the city and walked around "old town" to check out some of the shops and two big Christmas markets. We bought some sweet almonds from a guy dressed like Santa and then we watched a street artist finish a picture. He was one of those guys who paints planets and trees and waterfalls using only spray paint and cardboard or newspaper for tools. He was Italian, but spoke Spanish - I got to speak a little of both with him:) Monday I walked from the house and found my way back to old town, but I didn't buy anything. I had been planning on shopping for Stina in the fantasy store she had showed me the day before, but after the more than THREE HOUR WALK I didn't really feel like shopping. So I found a nice little cafe and got a latte and a piece of delicious chocolate cake(I earned it) and I read some of Bridget Jones' Diary - in French. Reading in French is still a bit above my head and yesterday I found a few d*** Francis books on one of the like fifty bookshelves in the house, so today I am reading Banker and loving it. It is a day of rest, except for the run - which though not rest for my body, was rest for my head. So I am having fun, though I do miss that home for the holdiays feel, but if I can't be home, this is where i want to be. Merry Christmas, Mikahla PS now I really want to learn Swedish:)
