Okay then.....well an interesting few days have past and we still haven´t managed to find a computer capable of uploading photos!!!!! apologies for the cheats but ours are even better......we might have to wait until NZ before the massive upload can begin, but we will see!!
We continued our trip around iguasu with a look at the Argentininian side, which is absolutely amazing........seriously its not possible to explain how much water is passing through this place !!!! (god´s very own toilet!).
Before leaving we went on a last day trip to Itaipu, the home of the worlds biggest dam, and probably some massive beavers as well........as sites go its not one of the most exciting but it is huge and took nearly 40 yrs build........also was made more exciting by em´s need to vom because she took her malaria pill too late.........barf!
We moved on from Iguasu on an epic bus journey (21 hrs) to Tucuman via the Chaca. Basically a massive field of catus and hedge for a million miles!. Interjected with a few flea bitten ponies, mangey dogs and derelict buildings.
On arriving in Tucuman, Emma decided to book us in to the local hovel for rest and apparently pennitence.....made funnier now by the fact that the 10 pounds per night (rip off) was not able to be paid as our bank had heard of the hidious nature of the place and blocked our cards!!!! Joy!! Apparently entering a country with only 6 pounds 5 dollars 4 sheckles and a casio watch is a little ambitous!!
However this is only the beginning as now you have to hear of the trials and tribulations to get the money flowing again!! This is a 3 part mini series worth making.......experience is a wonderful thing.
Part 1: Try six different cash machines with 4 different cards and 15 different apparent money options and increase the banks suspicion of fraud on all accounts. At this point we were considering was there any difference in doing a runner from the hostel or serving time in an argentinian prison?
Part 2: RESOLUTION! A bit of internet research suggests trying more machines but only asking for 300 pesos a time (60 quid) a limit put on to stop money laundering and fraud by argentina........GREAT!!! So the best thing to do was to sleep the night anyway in grott hole and leave the next morning with a mission to find cash......try 8 different cash machines having queued 20 minutes a time (these people make us look poor), get even more anxious and annoyed and decide to ring home......buy a call card and use the banks phone!! cunning plan....call card lasts 5 minutes (not 60 mins promised for our last 10 pesos) which is just enough time to get through to natwest. Progress, only to be thwarted by .....get this....a rediculously loud drumming band entering said bank, for what could only be a detour, at exactly the time when things were getting sorted. As the band stopped beside us on the phone the calling card ran out at which point the prison started to appeal for any number of ABH type of sentence for a nearby drummerboy.
Part 3 : Sorted......ems mobile is used for great expense and cards are sorted in 60 seconds, cash is found, grott hole is payed and we leave Tucuman for Salta and some much needed 4 star revellry!!!!
Now relaxing and stockpiling cash for Bolivia (could be exciting again!!)
