El Presidente again, now much happier to see Mike in less than 4 star accommodation and only eating part of the time. Harriet clearly has the knack with the washing though the spin-speed on her Hoover looked slower than ours. Its frustrating that you and fellow volunteers, not to mention Shuar children etc, all look in the best of health whilst most of us here have mega man-flu and feel distinctly sorry for ourselves. Still, one bite from that Cayman thing and all that will change. Everythings going as you would expect here Mike, totally the opposite to expected. Gordon wants to be in the jungle with you not in Warrington with me ! Fascinated to see the pics of a life so far removed from ours its hard to understand but incredible to contemplate. Have not seen any Sky dishes so concerned your missing Deal or No Deal and worse, Emmerdale. Take care both & keep reporting. Mark

Hi both!
Great fun reading your blog and seeing all the pictures. Looks great there, considering we're recovering from a blast of snow here last week, and now it's quite mild again. Never a dull moment weatherwise in the UK eh?
Keep well.
Sue & Barrie.

Mum and dad send their best wishes, have forwarded your bits on to Sarah and Adi, we like the sound of hot and steamy climes bearing in mind it's in the minuses here. Take care and enjoy.

Hi guys
Looks like you're having a fab time, a bit more exciting than January in Shropshire!! Watch out for any lesser spotted Ant and Decs in the jungle, we don't want you voted out! Look forward to hearing all about your adventures when you find your way out. Lots of love Keith and Jane xxx

Hi Mike and Harriet,
Sorry long time with no communication! Been checking out your website and monitoring your progress - looks a much better alternative than rain, storms, gales etc in the good old UK. (even managed a sprinkling of snow this week).
Best update you both with our news too - keep Sat 28th July free - it's D.Day!!
Wedding at St.Nicolas Church, Taplow at 3.00pm followed by small reception for family (that's you guys of course!) and then Party time in the evening for friends etc at The Chequers Inn, Wooburn Common.
In case you want to stay at The Chequers for the night am sending you their website - www.chequers-inn.com. Think our house will be full of children that night!
You're obviously having a great time. We're checking out the 'Chester Retreat' in two weeks time. Keep us posted with the news! Lots of love C and B xx

Dear Harriet & Mike. I'm very concerned. Harriet is never seen to eat in any pictures but Mike is hardly ever featured without a plate in front him. Is Harriet on hunger strike because Mike is steadfastly refusing to take part in deprived-ward-home-building ? And there's another thing......its all very well Mike swanning around in those "George Finest Label" midi shorts pretending to do "homework" but whilst this is going on the teacher (a very pretty four legged friend) seems to be struggling to get the eco warrior message across ie sunsets, lots of food, posh looking hotels and sucking up to Fidel on his birthday ? We want pics of mud, dangerous insects, large hairy locals explaining how to cut down a big tree and boil grubs for tea. And please feed Harriet soon, she will need her strength later in the trip. Regards, your under stress DM.

Tell me it's cold in Cuba and the sky isn't blue. But here the snowdrops are in flower.Love the photos.Hasn't Santiago an interesting museum?
