Visited the late great steve irwins zoom today, but unfortunately no pics because my phone has had no battery! Actually before I mention that we have definitely reached mosquito zone, didn't quite get eaten alive last night but it was the first time that they have been a problem. I don't think we will be rushing to a national park surrounded by a creek to spend another night soon!
The zoo was good some if the things like feeding the kangaroos we had done in Sydney but the best thing was obviously the crocs and the snakes. You wouldnt believe how big everything can grow to. Saw some huge crocs about 8feet long and a huge python must have been bout 20foot!! Even something like a wombat is bigger than anything I've seen in the wild before. I also like the fact the the park always is encouraging you do your bit to help the environment it wasn't all about making money - exactly what steve set out to achieve!! Just had dinner next to a cat playing with a little snake and so noisy toads! Tomorrow we have an organised trip to Fraser island which includes a nights stay so should be a nice change to the back of a van! Shower time and then bed but first just debating weather or not to drink the water at this caravan site as a dodgy stomach and a early morning boat trip could be a recipe for disaster!!!! Hopefully they have electricity on the island so il let you know how it goes tomorrow! Catch you soon...
