Namaste from Nepal
Thought I would send the blog today as I'm about to embark on a trek to Everest Base camp which takes 21 days. I won't be able to update you guys on the road so i'll do it when I get back. Anyway here's a quick update of what i've been up to for the past couple of days.
I got to Kathmandu, Nepal on Sunday afternoon. This place is so chilled out compared to Delhi and its been great to just relax for a couple of days. The local brew here is called Everest Beer and at 5% it does knock you back. At 1 pound however the after effects are worthwhile. I randomly met a German couple on the first night who joined me for dinner. It was a good evening where I told them about our exploits at Oktoberfest and we broke into the beerhall songs fairly quickly. Proust!
I've booked myself onto the Base Camp trek which leaves tomorrow. It ascends to 5000ft so it will be tough. Luckily I met a guy called Alex (also a Brit) who wanted to do the trek as well so we've teamed up. We've both said that its good that we're both English as we can then moan to each other without irritating any other over enthusiastic trekkers in other groups. Gotta love the Englsh abroad.
Hope everything is fine and dandy in England. Matt, Happy belated birthday!
Also just found out that Mclaren has dropped Beckham and Robinson for tonights game. Good Stuff. Perhaps we may just scrape through to Euro 2008.
See you in 3 weeks time
Will
