Ok so we pulled into Alice pretty late and the town is full post camel races so we couldn't get a camp site but we did get a $10 roast dinner at the tavern next to the Heavitree van park. I have to say you know youve been bush camping too long when the family next to you at the pub moves tables!
Anyway a good meal took the edge off the cold until morning when it hit zero yes 0 degrees. Thought poor Calvin was going to get hypothermia he was shivering that much so we went and got electric blankets! Ha best thing EVER
We gave gone very upmarket and booked into a big 4 park for 3 nights while I work. $50 a night which is huge for scrooge Mc Jod. It's like Coconuts in Cairns with camp sites as big as your backyard.
Poor brad went to get a bottle of port for a winter warmer and you can't buy port before 6pm due to the prohibition! He had to give photo ID to buy my baileys amazing.
I have never worn so many layers of clothes. While I was working had 2 pants 3 shirts 1 jumper 1 jacket and a hot water bottle! Problem was I was still frozen to the core.
And lastly, someone left a small heater in the "please take" box naturally we took it when the kids saw it they both asked "whats a heater?" they'd never seen one before ;)
