Hello Hello,
And welcome to my blog. This is the first blog I have written, it should prove to be an insight into my travels and a chance to document my crazy stories and struggle to find a job with Parks Canada.
So I arrived in Canada on the 20th May after a 10hr flight from London. It was a quick and easy flight and going well until I had to clear customs. I had to wait for 3hours in the airport to get my work visa. But at least I got it and am now legally entitled to work, yay. So heres to starting the paid career.
For the first few nights I was a hotel Moda, it was nice, a good place to get over the jet lag. I then spent my time in the Vancouver hostel while i sorted out things like opening a bank account and getting a phone number.
Vancouver was nice and I spent most of my time at Stanley park, a really amazing park, big and easy to get around. One day I ran around it, 10k!
After getting paperwork sorted I headed over to Pender Island, where my third cousin once removed lives. Its an awesome place, loads to see and do. Have been kayaking, walking, boating, swimming and doing lots of outside work around the house since being here.
Spent 2weeks here as I had to apply for my dream job, as a park warden. This application is now under way so fingers crossed.
I also helped out with a few big jobs. Just today have we finished building and laying the new interlocking brick patio. Which means I am now free to write this and move on to the next part of the trip. 2mora I am off to Victoria, British Columbia's capital city located on Vancouver Island. Went there a coupe of days ago... its nice. Then will be off to the west coast of the Island for the weekend and a few days to relax and plan my next move.
Anyhow this is my first entry of many and will try and update you as I move on. Thanks for reading and enjoy.
Much love Will x
