Hello everyone,
Hope you are all well. Im writing now on our last day in Bangkok as we leave for Ko Samui (basically that picture) tonight on the night bus. Its been pretty hectic over the last couple of days, we changed hotel to a cheaper one and one with a pool - definately a good idea.
The sights in Thailand are amazing, we've been to the Grand Palace, a very Grandeur array of buildings built in the 1700s by the king. The monarchy used to live there but they have since moved out and it has become somewhat of a tourist spot and a thai pilgrim destination. Also been to the Standing Budda, a huge Gold Buddha standing at about 25m, an incredible sight to see. We have also seen a few monks knocking around as well, thats pretty cool.
The Thailand way of life is so different to that of England. They literally barter for everything, and the street vendors are so pushy into selling almost everything. Walking down the street at night entails several cocktail stands selling cocktails in buckets, often holding signs saying "We do not check ID" and "Beer - F***in' Good!" right next to the police station. They are also HUGE into England football, the first thing someone says when we say we are from england is "Man Utd!!".
Over the next 10 days we will be travelling down to singapore, stopping at Ko Samui, Ko Phangan and Kualur Lumpur on the way. I will try and keep you updated, but for now, goodbye.
Will x
