It was the day of the sailing trip & we awoke that morning with no rain!! The roads for the buses were still flooded, so rather than cancelling our trip, they joined two boat trips together. We set sail on the 'New Horizon' with a total of 20 passengers & 4 crew. We had a variety of nationalities on board. England, Ireland, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Canada & the Netherlands were all represented. Pretty much as soon as we had left the marina, it started to rain again. We had boarded around 2pm & today would mostly consist of sailing until we anchored up for the evening, so after all the safety briefings, the crew simply told us to start drinking...& it was only 3:30pm!! The crew had a very valid motto, 'When anchored, get w***ered', so it would be rude not to oblige with their boat rules. Once we were anchored up, we were warned not to go swimming, as we were in the middle of the breeding grounds for Hammerhead sharks. We spent a little while watching some big fish chase some little fish through the water for dinner & cheering on the iccle ones as the underdog. Then some sensible soul decided to start up the drinking games. We had a game of 21 until everyone gradually started to tail off to bed. The guy from Ireland clearly had a good night as he went to bed clutching his bag of Goon (very cheap wine, a backpackers saviour), woke up with random scratchmarks on his torso & it was announced in the morning that he had wet the bed, whilst sleeping in a bunk above the poor Norwegian couple.
