We were extremely grateful for the recovery time after the Full Moon party & by the end of today that gratitude would have quadrupled!! Our first mode of transport that day was a minibus from our bungalows at 6am. We made it to the pick up point at 5:50am & had forgotten that we asked our 2 female Swiss neighbours to make sure we were awake, as they were on the same minibus as us. So bless them, they had been knocking on our door for 10 minutes, thinking we were still asleep. Thankfully, they made the bus in time as well. The next vehicle of the day was a ferry at 7am, which arrived at our port of Dak San at 10:30am. We then boarded a rickety old bus to take us to Phuket. However, this bus took us as far as Surit Thani & then we were told to get off & change buses (which I suppose was a blessing looking at the state of the bus). So another bus & 4 hours later we arrived in Phuket......to be transferred on to another minibus to ship us to the airport. Arriving in departures at 17:30pm, we had a bit of a wait as our flight wasn't until 21:15pm. En-route to Phuket we had passed through a thunderstorm, which was heading towards the airport. Our flight wasn't delayed so we had to fly through the storm & unlike Joel who looked as though he had just been put to sleep by a vet, I was wide awake & had to ride every twist & turn of the turbulence rollercoaster. 2 & 1/2 hours later we landed unscathed in Kuala Lumpur. After dodging the locust swarm of taxi drivers at the airport, we arrived at our hostel 'The Reggae House 1' at 2am. But the long day hadn't finished yet!!! There was a confusion over our booking & they had us down as arriving the following day. Thankfully, there was a Reggae House 2 in the same road that had some spare beds, so eventually after a long day of impersonating Michael Palin, we could finally get some shuteye!
