Greetings from Thailand!!

Ok....slight change of plan. I had to make the executive decision whether or not I should leave Sri Lanka early. Despite the country being very beautiful and there being at least one place I wanted to visit before I left I made a promise with most of you that I would be very careful on my lonesome and always made sure I was safe. Unfortunately for many reasons (I won't bore you with them now) at the moment Sri Lanka isn't a safe country for a young british girl on her own. Full stop. I really am gutted to have had to cut my trip short and I am really frustrated right now that I am a girl and thus limiting what I could feasibly do independently- but when you can't even walk 5 mins down the road to the supermarket you know something isn't right. So for the sake of my Dad's stress levels and my own enjoyment I left Sri Lanka at 1:35am and arrived in Bangkok at 7:00am (local times).

Met the gayest American in the airport on my flight which entertained me for a good four hours and slept most of the flight. Have checked into the D and D Inn (Thanks Pen) and am wandering around to take in everything!

Anywho just thought I'd let you know the changes in itinery :-)
