Bangkok, Thailand
The departure from the UK all started so well yesterday, I thought yes - I could do this with no upset or tears as I had already done the hard goodbyes, the parents and Amber. How wrong was I? I had a lovely afternoon with the Team Floods girls in the Bollo (the last use of the One Card for 12 months) and then had to do the goodbyes and Corke wanted to hug, I'm fine until the hugs and then the tears start so it was quick goodbyes, a short hug for Corke and stomped off down the High Road for one final verbal fight with the Halifax. Then hit the flat, quick shower, put the rubbish out, bag on back, shut door and posted keys through the letter box (this action did make it all feel a reality, that yes the time had come and it was departure day). Spoke to Amber on the way - the final goodbye as I had already decided I could not cope with any goodbyes at the airport and wanted to fly solo right from the start. The journey of the next year began I stomped off down the High Road one last time for a year with the rucksack on my back. There I was wondering down the High Road and surprise, surprise I looked in Tommy's to see the familiar silhouette of Lady Burchell with glass in hand and George in the same stance, Corke was still out with them so had to go through the whole hugging thing again too.Airport was fine until people started ringing and in the end stopped answering, couldn't even bring myself to speak to my mum. Sat in Starbucks with my Frapaccino with tears a plenty, then sorted myself out had a cup of tea and calmed down. I was presentable again for boarding. I was so lucky too, had three seats to myself so managed to get a good few hours sleep, had a proper good lie down, I feel sorry for those around me as I am sure I was snoring, the next thing I knew we were descending into Bangkok. All went smooth there and Rosie was there waiting with her familiar little green, but this time it was the grin in a tanned Rosie face, the first bit of color I have seen on Rosie in all the time I have known her.Not allot was done on my first night in Bangkok, had some dinner (Pad Thai) and a couple of local beers (Chang) and just chatted and chatted and chatted. Then it was bedtime, awaiting my first full day in Bangkok.
