Well, here we are in Delhi (MASSIVE culture shock, even though I've been to India before, it was nothing like this!)! Unfortunately we're not using our netbook cuz we can't find anywhere with wireless connection so we're currently in an internet cafe and a mouse has just ran past Rich's feet!!! I loved it but Rich wasn't keen! Today hasn't been the best - we got to the 'hotel' and were told our room had a bucket and no shower! I winged a bit though so he 'upgraded' us to a room with a 'shower'! It's not nice!!! Luckily we both have a sense of humour so just started giggling! So glad we both our own sheets (and we stole the pillows from the Virgin flight - which was great by the way). We had a wonder around and Delhi is MANIC - more so than we imagined! Saw lots of cows in the road too, one even decided to go into one of the shops on the main bazaar! Met a really nice guy called Danish who showed us somewhere good to eat - had a curry and naan which was scrummy, but probably gonna get Delhi belly! It only came to 1 pound with drinks! But that's where the cheap ends... we found out that trains are so busy this time of year due to festivels that you have to book in advance, so we've had to arrange for a driver to take us to Agra (to see the Taj), Ranthambore (for safari), Jaipur and back to Delhi which will take 5 days and has cost over 230 pounds, which is much more than we expected to spend on travel, but at least we'll be in comfort with a personal guide! Just booked our flights down to Cochin (Kerala) leaving on 4th so we'll soon be out of the hustle and on a beach (looking forward to getting out of Delhi already! Haha!). Think this backpacking lark is gonna take a bit of getting used to!!! Will upload pics soon! Missing you all lots! x
