Arrival in Munich, not as enjoyable as expected.
The steward announced over the tannoy that only passengers disembarking in Munich were allowed off the plane, passengers travelling onto Manchester were to stay on the plane and wait an hour before take-off. Jackie was definitely not a happy bunny.
After the hour, which seemed much longer, we took off again. The ladies all needed to visit the toilets where one of the flight attendants took great interest in the bright yellow aikido t-shirts.
He then noticed the men in their aikido t-shirts, which led to him coming over to our group and asking where we had been and what had we been doing. Once realising that we had trained with Gevin from the Singapore Aikido, it turned out that they knew each other. 5 minutes later he returned along with a stewardess carrying a tray with drinks on, he asked if the aikido members could make themselves known to him and then informed us this was a tray of complimentary champagne, BIG smiles all round. We asked if he would do a group photo and Rose cheekily asked if it was possible to do it in first class. He was more than obliging and we all followed him down the plane, champagne in hand. What a wonderful finish to our 5th International Friendship Seminar.
