Back in May 2006 the city was taken over by rebelling teachers & students who caused huge riots. Almost every building in this colourful city had graffit on due to this, the windows in the Palace we all smashed and the court house was burnt out. It had calmed down by the time we visited but there seemed to be far more police and army present than tourists and locals...it really felt very unstable.
