OK!!! well an interesting few days.... I have been in Budapest untill today. Most of my days in Pest were spent walking and exploring, eating ice cream and drinking s*** coffee. The place didn't grow on me like Krakow, but it was still pretty cool. I had planned to leave yesterday to Romania, I was running late for my train because the receptionist at the hostel wasn't at his desk, and he had my drivers license as a key deposit. I did one of my pack hauls across town, and arrived to my platform to see the train pulling away. Ok... I took that as a sign to stay one more night and party, being friday and still not going out in Budapest. I found another hostel cos my other one was full, and went and got a haircut, which feels great.
The day before yesterday, I went with a couple from the hostel to the Museum of fine art. It was actually really good, and the building itself was amazing, let alone the art. They had a huge collection of Eygptian artifacts. The whole place was free to walk around so I had a good look around.
I also found a gym in Budapest, which is apparently quite an amazing feat. It took me 3 days of looking, and I had actually given up... I was walking to a coffee shop that I saw in a mag, with pics of latte art (first I've seen in Euro). It was in this backstreet and I walked past this gym, which was huge, well equipped with a sauna. When I came back later on, It was full of huge hungarians. These blokes were just huge, with biceps as big as my head, and forearms bigger than my thighs.... So an interesting gym session, but I can feel strength returning to my shoulder which is awesome.
Last night I went out with some guys from my new hostel, a swiss guy, aussie, and a turk. The clubs in Budapest actually disappointed me, and it was a pretty average night. The company was good though.
This morning, I got up with full intentions of catching that same train to Romania. I arrived at the station with about half an hour to spare. I stood outside the carriage for about fifteen minutes, and suddenly decided that I wasnt going to Romania... It was that fast, just some gut feeling hit me. I put on my pack and walked to the nearest net cafe to do some recon on some other places... decided on this huge lake in Hungary, which seems a popular destination for the hungarian holidays. Seems like a really chilled place, I can swim in the lake, drink some red wine, as this is hungary's vineyard area. I'm planning on a quiet one, but the receptionist at the hostel has asked me to a party with her and her friends.... It's an offer difficult to refuse... We will see
