So... the trip has been going for just over two weeks now - time for an update!!
It all began with 3 days in bustling Bangkok, followed by a night in Phuket en route to party-central Koh Phi Phi, where we stayed for 4 nights. Next it was time for a day of travel to get us accross to Koh Samui. We spent 6 nights here, although one was at the full moon party on nearby Koh Phangnan. Then it was back to Bangkok on an overnight bus and finally, to get us up to the present day, a bus to Siem Reap in Cambodia.
It been quite an adventure already and although its only just begun, I can't help asking myself why I didn't do this sooner!! Having a brilliant time, from tuk-tuk tours of Bangkok, to fire-limbo and (watching) Thai boxing on Koh Phi Phi. We've chilled out on some awesome beaches, swam in crystal clear seas and had the occassional Chang/Tiger/Singha along the way!! The focus, as intended for these first two weeks, was on more of a holiday than the touristy things, though we still managed to squeeze in a few bits and pieces...
I say farewell to the land of smiles for now, as I embark on my journey through Cambodia and up through Vietnam. It really has been an amazing first couple of weeks and I already have memories that will last me a lifetime.
