Today has been an easier day because weve just done museums. In the morning to the National Museum of Athens. It was incedible. We saw the gold mask of Agamenon (which isnt his by the way), the statue of Zeus from Sounion, and a lot of other artefacts from archaic to classical period.
Lunch was from the guide book in the Plaka area in a little family taverna called Platanos. Very nice but the same kind of stuff as we eat everyday for lunch: Taramasalata, tatziki, stuffed vine leaves etc.
The afternoon was spent in the Parthenon museum itself, which is waiting for the Elgin marbles to be returned from US. If the state of the ones here are anything to go by Id bloody keep them in the British Museum. Im only HALF joking by the way!
Tonight we are going to a very nice restaurant on top of one of the hills overlooking Athens! It is called Orizontes. Apparently it is about 30 euros a head but I think that is absolute codswallop. If anything this one will cost us an arm and a leg.
No photos today because werent allowed in museums.
