Bit of a strange day today as we moved from one chaotic city to another. Thankfully this time the chaos was organised, well mannered and friendly!
After an interesting taxi journey to the airport where the driver refused to let us see the meter (Totally at it!) and a refusal by the guard at the airport to let us in as we had no tickets (e-ticketing is obviously some amazing future world at the moment!) we were finally allowed to board our plane for HK. It turned out to be an interesting flight too: We were sitting beside one of the loudest snorers you have ever heard, and just in front of us was the woman which every plane has that won't sit down. Funny thing was, she was told by cabin crew at the end to wait so she could be escorted to her wheelchair.. I coughed 'fraud' a couple of times, but they didn't pick it up..! We also got to watch 1.5 hours of a film in English before the last 15 minutes changed to Mandarin. No idea what they were saying, but the dubbing was great quality!
Arrival in Hong Kong changed things completely. Efficiency became King and we were through the airport and on to the express train without even Louise getting lost. The whole place is so clean and organised compared to India, and we are both looking forward to our time here. Our hotel had kindly kept us room on the 31st floor which has amazing views over HK Island and these were only bettered by those from the 43rd floor of the Bank of China tower. After a look around some shops and gazing in wonder at the height of everything, the rain we left behind in India caught up wth us. Only difference was, this time it had brought some friends too.. Chucking it down as they say back home. We found a table outside under cover to watch it for a while and then headed back for some much needed sleep. Hopefully off to see some sights tomorrow if the weather allows!
