And so our time together has come to an end.. Today was our last day in our last city in our last country on our round the world tour. Boo...! Not to worry. I'm heading in to Trailfinders on Monday to book the holiday for next year.. THUD! (That was Louise fainting at the prospect!)
What other way to end than with a slightly off day weather wise. Despite the cloudy skies, we made our way to the beach to watch the world (mostly wearing little more than a pair of speedos) go by while sipping on some local drinks. Louise could be seen sipping on a fresh coconut while I stuck to the local Skol lager (no relation to the stuff which used to sponsor the League Cup back home!). Nice.. Very relaxing and an excellent way to wind down before tomorrows 3 flight escapade!
The afternoon was spent with a trip to the famous 195,000 seater Maracana stadium where we spent time in the stands, in the dressing rooms and even on the pitch level. Quite an arena for a game of football even if it was empty when we visited.
Sadly the rest of the day is now to be spent packing our bags which pre Rio had increased from 31kgs in weight to 72kgs! Good work. No idea where all the weight is, but packing it all correctly should be fun!
The holiday as been amazing, and we have loved just about every minute of it. It has let us see parts of the world we never thought possible, and allowed us to meet loads of interesting people. Only problem might be that we have seen so much that we want to try and see more.. Blog 2 on the horizon?
Thanks for following us on our trip, and for the messages you sent. It's been good! See you all soon as we return to normality!
Over and out..
