Carlsbad Caverns was Marty's favorite spot of the trip and my second fave, next to the Foundation. Pictures cannot begin to show how neat this was. One of the main rooms was 125 feet high and we walked over a mile around the major portion of it. There are stalagtites and mites every few steps, one formation more interesting than the next. We were in there for three hours. You may know Roswell about two hours north, as the UFO center of the world. We thought about going to that museum but visited the Anderson Museum instead. The collection was put together by a gentleman, now 94 and a fine artist in his own right, from forty years of underwriting artists in residence from all over the country. The participants gave him a one of their work in thanks. While there were some funky pieces, the variety was terrific and lots of quality things. Just a lucky stop. We were about four hours at that point from our final destination. The afternoon thunderheads were building over the mountains, the temperature cooled and we were happy to be back in Santa Fe.

Elise Detterbeck Hi Julie and Marty! I so enjoyed reading about your adventures, and the pictures are marvelous! The view from your rustic accommodation is superb! From mud flats to caves, the range is incredible. Good job on your blog! All 4 entries were informative and entertaining too. I'll watch for more entries as the summer rolls on.
Fred Himmelein I particularly enjoyed the snapshot of Marty cozying up to Nathan Kahn!
